The International Institute for Professional Education (IIPE) of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was established in May 2001. In accordance with international higher education standards, IIPE aims to establish a senior financial and economic training center based on cooperation with practical departments and international professional education organizations. Through establishing a series of internationally administered professional examinations and an associated training system, IIPE aims to foster highly demanded, well-qualified persons engaged in the financial fields.
IIPE has three main functions: 1) training of the international professional education in finance; 2) holding examinations of international professional education in finance; 3) researching in the financial professional regime.

AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR CPCU AND INSURANCE
INSTITUTE OF AMERICA
Established in May 1998 as the first examination center of CPCU in China. Up to September 2003, there were 78 candidates. Qian Li, an insurance graduate of SUFE, has passed all courses and was the first in China to receive the CPCU certification. In September 2001, SUFE signed a memorandum with Chubb, USA. Currently, there have been 4 successful graduates.

THE FACULTY AND INSTITUTE OF ACTUARIES
（FoA & IoA）
The FoA and IoA programs were established in September 1998. As of December 2003, 52 candidates have received a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques, and 17 candidates have earned a Certificate in Finance and Investment.
CASUALTY ACTUARIAL SOCIETY（CAS）
Established in April 2002 as the first examination center of CAS in China.
LIFE OFFICE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION（LOMA）
Established in the Fall of 1995. 3 SUFE LOMA recipients have earned the 3 highest scores worldwide on the exam.
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL ( IPMA)
Established in July 2001, 351 people that have taken the training and 135 people passed all subjects.
ASSOCIATION OF CHARTERED CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANTS
Since its establishment in 1992, in cooperation with ACCA and other organizations, more than 2.000 students have taken the exam and 330 have passed.
CERTIFIED GENERAL ACCOUNTANTS ASSOCIATION OF CANADA
Established in April 1994, more than 700 people have attempted the exams, and among those, 112 people have passed all.
CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
Established in 1998, this was the first project in China of CIMA. There are 2 exams each year.
CHARTERED PROFESSIONAL Accountancy AUSTRALIA (CPAA)
CPAA was established in 2000. By September 2002, the first class of students were in the program. Currently, there are 16 subjects in this project, and four subjects have been completed. The pass rate was 100%.
