On October 16, 2012, the opening ceremony for the 2012 Training Class for financial directors from the Finance Bureaus in the western areas of China was held at Zhongshan North Road Campus of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE). This program was hosted by the Cadre Education Center of the Ministry of Finance and offered by the School of Continuing Education (SCE) of SUFE. Xu Xiang, Deputy Director of the Cadre Education Center of the Ministry of Finance, Huang Ying, Vice President of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and leaders from the International Training Department of the Cadre Education Center of the Ministry of finance attended the opening ceremony. Liu Peng, Dean of the School of Continuing Education presided over the opening ceremony.
Vice President Huang Ying warmly welcomed the trainees on behalf of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. She briefly introduced SUFE and SCE’s achievements in its high-level non-academic education (training). Vice President Huang Ying pointed out that it is of great realistic significance to hold this training class offered by the experts both rich in theory and social practice, to help students emancipate the mind, change ideas, exchange experience, improve knowledge, strengthen their awareness in the implementation of the national macro fiscal policy, gain more knowledge and improve the comprehensive ability to lead in the stage of implementation in the national "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", thus promoting the harmonious development of the western region economy and society. Vice President Huang Ying hoped that all the students will learn a lot at SUFE and have a happy life.
